These are some of the food. Yum Yum

Sri Veeramakalimman temple

This temple is one of the oldest Hindu Temples in Singapore and the oldest in Serangoon; Tamil pioneer workers built the shrine of Veeramakalimman, the powerful goddess to protect them in a foreign land; it was also the centre of early Indian sociocultural activities in the area. Many Hindus go to the temple and worship the Hindu goddess, Kali.

Southern Indian women prefer to wear the saree, 5.5 meters cloth that they drape arond themselves. They also need a blouse called a choli and a petticoat to tuck the saree into. This is a picture of my friend in the saree.

Flower garlands

Hindus offer flower garlands for prayers and sometimes it is used as hair decoration.
One of the flowers used is the white jasmine.

The three kinds of gods

There are only three kinds of gods: they are the Destroyer, Creater and the Preserver. These gods come in many forms.
Little India is one of Singapore's most colorful districts spreading out along Serangoon Rd, populated by the descendants of the Indians who arrived in Singapore in the mid 1800’s.

Peacock:
It is a symbol of Hinduism. Peacock feathers are on sale in Little India. The peacock feather will fall off after the mating season.

Religion:
Hiduism, Buddhism and the religion of Sikhism originates from India

Sikhs:
All Sikhs are to keep their hair uncut. They are to carry a personal comb and dagger. They also have a silver coloured steel bangle on their right wrist.
